Google Adwords Optimisation
Google Adwords ranking system works a little different to other search engine advertising programmes, it isn't a matter of “those that pay the most rank the highest”. Google Adwords is not purely price driven.
Google positions your ads by determining your minimum Cost Per Click (how much you want to pay for a person to click on an ad) and your overall Quality Score. Your Quality Score is based on:
- Relevance of your ad text
- Relevance of your Landing Page
- Click Through Rate CTR
- Relevance of your Keywords in comparison to a search query
Click Through Rate CTR is the number of clicks your ad receives divided by the number of times it is shown and plays a major role when Google determines where your ads are positioned in the search result pages.
When writing for Google Adwords, you need to be creative and ensure the text on your ads is relevant. Your ad needs to be well targeted so that they say something to those searching for your products or service, which is going to make people want to click on your ad.
By attracting more people to click on your ads, your CTR will increase. Google will then reward your hard work by giving you a higher position in their search results pages at no extra cost to you.
