Keyword Research

Keywords are what people use to find websites. The keywords you use on your website need to be the same as the keywords your customers are searching for. If the keywords on your site are not what your customers are searching for, then your potential customers will not find you.

Performing keyword research is vitally important as it helps you to understand what your target audience is searching for relating to your products.

You might initially come up with some phrases that you think your potential customers will use, but rather than assume these terms are useful, it is better to perform some research on these terms to see whether or not people are actually using them.

A useful tool to perform keyword research is WordTracker.

WordTracker allows you to look at keyphrases and find variations on these phrases, this also allows you to see which terms are searched for.

Wordtracker’s suggestions are based on over 300 million keywords and phrases that people have used over the previous 90 days. (In other words, there is no “guessing” when you use Wordtracker. Everything is based on the keywords millions of people have actually typed into search engines.)

By performing keyword research and finding terms that people are actually searching for, if you apply these terms correctly to your website, you will see an increase in your traffic.

Not only will you see an increase in your search engine traffic, you will find that the traffic coming to your site is more targeted, therefore, likely to be more successful in selling a product or service.
